Our trainees have been doing great things following graduation! We’ve been so proud to see so many go on to find employment, with several of them telling us their traineeships made them feel well prepared for the working world. Here are a few of their success stories.
Towards the end of his traineeship, Jack participated in AccessAbility Day 2018 – an event run by Westgate Community Initiatives Group Inc. He was matched with employer Melbourne Furniture Installers (MFI) – and the day was so successful that it led to an ongoing role for him.
Jack began working with MFI the very same week that he graduated. He said that doing his Warehouse Operations traineeship at Mambourin, “helped me get ready for work – especially the chance to get my forklift licence.’’
Marcus, another of our graduates was also successful in gaining employment at transport company Toll, and graduates Tim and Jake were both offered employment here at Mambourin.
Jake was even a finalist in our monthly employee awards, with the nomination stating:
”Over the past 12 months Jake has transitioned from trainee to being a full time worker within Mambourin. During this time Jake has streamlined the processes for our recycling program, trained new staff in the procedures, commenced recording all products in and out of the warehouse and overall making it a much more effective process. Jake has not only provided service excellence to Mambourin but to our client Sustainable Salons through his work ethic and output.”
More recently, our trainee Cody (pictured at top) graduated ahead of starting a new job at Red Rooster. Cody said that doing her traineeship gave her a taste of what working was like, built her confidence and also taught her how to multitask and take responsibility for herself and her work – excellent transferable skills for any workplace.
Congratulations Jack, Marcus, Tim, Jake and Cody – we wish you all the very best!
