Our Mambourin Business Solutions (MBS) team members always have achievements to shout about! Some recent highlights include SLES participant Caitlin progressing towards her goal to work in childcare, and Nathan from our gardening team moving into open employment at Werribee Racecourse.
Caitlin’s career success with SLES
Caitlin, one of our School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) participants, was interested in working in childcare. When a job for a Before and After School Care position in Melton opened, Caitlin and Brittany, her SLES mentor, thought it presented the perfect opportunity to work towards achieving this goal.
Caitlin applied for the role with support from Brittany. Caitlin progressed to the interview stage and did such a fantastic job that she was successful! Caitlin has been undertaking some training to prepare for the role and has enrolled to complete a Certificate III.
Congratulations Caitlin, you should be very proud. All your hard work has paid off!
Nathan thanks Mambourin for move to open employment
Earlier this year Nathan from our gardening team successfully gained a position at Werribee Racecourse. Congratulations Nathan!
Nathan wrote us a short message about his experience with Mambourin and how it prepared him for his new role.
I would like to start with a very special thank you to Mambourin with all the support and guidance through my time there.
Also, I would like to thank Brad, Kyle, Murray, Rhys, and other supervisors at the Mambourin warehouse and gardening crew.
I started at the Mambourin warehouse doing SBAT then at the end of the year I got asked to have an interview for a supported employment role in the gardening crew. I really love the work and entertainment they had out there. Kyle, Murray and Rhys showed me how to use the gardening machine that I had never used before. My favourite equipment I like to use is the ride on mower and brush cutter.
I had been at Mambourin only for three years, not very long. I appreciate everything they have done for me, without my time there I wouldn’t be where I am now. Thank you to all the support over the years.
Nathan
