The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability was established in April 2019 with the first public sitting held in Brisbane in September 2019.
We support the Royal Commission as all people with disabilities have the fundamental right to be treated with dignity and respect. People living with disability, their families and carers also deserve to have confidence in the disability sector and we hope that the sector will be enhanced by the Royal Commission deliberations.
We understand that seeing media coverage of the Royal Commission might be distressing for members of our community and we’d like to remind you that you are welcome to call Rohan Braddy, CEO, at any time on 0409 136 157 or via email at rbraddy@mambourin.org if you have any concerns.
Individuals are also able to make complaints to the National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline on 1800 880 052.
