International Day of People with Disability 2022

On 3 December every year, people around the world come together to celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

The day is a chance for people to learn more about disability and what we can do to break down barriers and make our communities more inclusive for everyone.

This year’s theme is ‘Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world’.

About IDPwD

IDPwD is a global awareness day celebrating the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities while creating opportunities for inclusion.

Every year, IDPwD is celebrated through events that bring together people with disabilities, their families and friends, caregivers, professionals and members of the public.

You’ll journey into a deep and introspective space of storytelling, from the interior of a car to the memory of being in church to a dressing room, then on to Oliver Twist and finally finishing with a sensory garden experience. MGR uses expressive imagination through stories told through light/shadow play, sound texture, taste and smell.
