Our Melton Community Hub has started an exciting new program this year – gaming! It has already proven to be very popular with our community members. Of course, it is mostly about having fun, but it also has some excellent added benefits for the people playing.
The gaming program offers community members an opportunity to learn skills like teamwork and good communication with others. It also offers an environment to have a friendly competitive experience that assists people to build skills in managing the emotions of winning and losing.
Our Melton hub currently has Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch consoles but will be expanding soon to include some gaming computers and VR (Virtual Reality).
Eric, a Melton Community member, says, ‘I love gaming with my friends. I like to play Fortnite on Xbox and Mario Kart on Switch.’

As part of the program, community members are also able to enjoy different board games and puzzles.
The Melton gaming program has just hit capacity, but don’t worry, if you are interested in doing this program, they are planning to offer it on more days, or even after hours if there is sufficient interest. If you attend one of our other Mambourin Community Hubs and are interested in gaming, please let your local hub manager or team leader know.
